I was like "how did RFK Jr get a brain worm?" and then I found out he's the type of person that eats dead bears he finds randomly and it all makes a lot more sense now.
"Look at her. She is worse than Bernie. And she happens to be a really low I.Q. individual. She has a very low I.Q. We don't need a low I.Q."

I would very much enjoy seeing Kamala Harris drag him for filth in a televised debate and then turn to face him and say, "I guess we should've stayed on subjects you can handle, like Person, Man, Woman, Camera, TV.",
I'm convinced he once took one of those online IQ tests while sitting on the toilet and it told him he was a genius. There's no other explanation for his fixation on it.
Usha Vance telling us not to listen to her husband's words but the "substance" of his message still doesn't hold water because the "substance" of it is still sexist and exclusionary.
JD Vance isn't commenting on how policies make it difficult to be a parent. AT. ALL. Don't make me go look at his voting record, while we're at it. I'm sure there is a lot of anti-family horseshit to be found there, too.
Usha Vance really wants to be the wife of a VP, it seems, girl is out there, actively asking people to dumb down so that her husband appears to be less of a moron.
I hate how much Vance's approach relies on voters being morons. The claim that it is Rs (and not Ds) that champion family friendly policies is obviously absurd to anyone who has followed current events/politics even a tiny bit over the last four years (or, really, any period of time). But yet, Trump's voters will just buy it.
Very few Americans know that the stock market is not the economy. Most of the people who claim Trump’s economy was the world’s greatest don’t know that GDP growth was not meaningfully high, and especially did not surge as a result of the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act. Unfortunately, the headlines are the narrative. A rate cut though will erase most of this.
"Very few Americans know that ___________________________." (Fill in literally anything; SEE ALSO decades-long kneecapping of public education and comments re school vouchers as solution.)
Sorry for the Debbie Downering but man am I salty tonight. Vouchers do that to me.
I really dont know much about Shapiro but i saw in the last substack that he was for school vouchers and then I saw this.
"Gov. Josh Shapiro proposed a 2024-25 budget Tuesday that increases basic education funding by $1.1 billion, which would be the largest single-year increase ever.
Shapiro’s proposal also hews closely to the recommendation of the Basic Education Funding Commission, which spent a year traveling the state to question educators, advocates, experts, and others about education in their communities. The budget does not include vouchers, which are backed strongly by Republicans who control the Senate and share power in an almost equally divided General Assembly."
This seems directly opposite to the claim of him being "pro voucher" or diverting funding from public schools. I'm just saying there seems to be some possible misinformation circulating.
I sought out a couple pro-Shapiro articles this weekend because as I said I have been uneducated about him.
He has had a pretty impressive run in government and it sounds like, as he has worked his way up, he really learned how to legislate.
He’s still not my favorite, but I have to remind myself there’s no perfect candidate and it’s a fools errand to wish for one. I’m gearing up for Kamala walking back a lot of her more progressive ideas and statements, because I know most of this country is more conservative than I am.
That doesn’t matter. What does matter is beating TFG.
I'm not super-excited about any of the potential candidates, and there are a few that I'm particularly meh about. If Harris chooses one of the latter, I'll scowl and mutter, "Well, that sucks," .... and then get back to working my booty off to elect the Harris-VPTBA ticket!
yeah, i dont really know anything about him. i'm an expat so i'm voting from the UK. The VP choice shouldnt be a big deal. It never has been. And the VP doesnt shape the president's policy's. I dunno, I feel like some people got really weird about this guy in particular and he seems to have pretty much exactly the same stances as the other choices. He is apparently a really popular gov in a swing state so it kinda looks like a smear campaign from the right since this guy doesnt have anything really threatening to anyone but the GOP in the election.
yeah, again i can see why that would upset some people in PA. I'm not trying to dismiss local people's irritation at this but this just really doesnt look like something that would eliminate someone as a VP. Prefer others over him, sure but not to the extent that people are viewing this guy like he's radioactive. It's not something deeply dangerous. Is this pushback against him really coming all from the left? Or could it be from the GOP who can see he could actually deliver the swing state Dems need to win? B/c he's actually a threat in that way and that way only.
You think his relations with billionaires who support charter schools, masking it in coded worry about "children in violent situations " is not deeply dangerous? The opposition to him is certainly not coming from the GOP.
i understand what you are saying and yes i think charter schools are terrible and have for years professionally and personally fought against them. of course you dont know that, you dont know anything about me which might lead you to make assumptions. i encourage you not to make assumptions. especially as you are obviously very passionate about sharing information with others. we are all here to learn from each other.
So, unless I misread, he's a fence-sitting opportunist who's got very close relations with 3 billionaire hedge fund types. The teachers union in PA retracted their endorsement of him.
Aaaand: "I believe every child of God deserves a shot here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and one of the best ways we can guarantee their success is making sure every child has a quality education," Shapiro told Fox News in June 2023, late in the state’s budget process.
The best way to ensure every child (of two humans because biology and please GFY with that church-baiting) gets a fair shot at success is to fund and champion public education. Loudly. Unapologetically. Passionately. Relentlessly. If the public schools are so desperately, unfixably jacked up that vouchers seem like the answer, THEN FKKING GET IN THERE.
Drop combat teachers in from helicopters.
Break into Jeff Bezos' OTHER yacht (the crappy one) and steal enough from the couch cushions to fix PS 43's roof and air conditioning.
Declare a state of martial study hall.
Get every school metal detectors and invest money to properly train and certify security staff to deal with children. (Yeah, it sucks, but as long as guns remain untouchable in this country, we owe kids qualified protection from our societal incompetence.)
Recruit Samuel L. Jackson to bitchslap every single parent too busy screaming about which books are in the library to help Khaleesi with her math homework.
Tax inheritances .0013% and buy Mr. Sawicki some GD highlighters.
I know it's all fantasy and none of this will happen cuz 'murrikkka and "trickle down economics"..... but dammit the word "voucher" makes my blood boil. Vouchers as a strategy for "saving" education is like solving the Flint water crisis by taxpayer-funded Mr. Pibb fountains.
I'm definitely not for school vouchers. So, I can see why that might upset some people. But those same people seemed to have gotten over it:
"Soon after Harris emerged as the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, 50 labor leaders, including the presidents of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) and the Pennsylvania branch of the American Federation of Teachers, signed a letter of support for Shapiro."
I dunno, I'm seeing stuff about him that doesnt seem as controversial once it's looked at a bit longer. And I swear if I see someone come in with the "he served in the Israeli army" I'm gonna bust out laughing b/c that's definitely one of the smears going around.
I fine with Shapiro, I just need him to realize he needs to get away from school vouchers and school choice. He needs to see it for what it is, modern day segregation of schools and commit to the democratic principle of strong public schools for all. It's not going to make or break it for me, I am voting Kamala if Joe Biden was her VP. But it is not a great look on his part.
I was tired of RFK long before this weekend, but now I'm sick of this bastard. If I see my neighbor and her Kennedy sign out in the front yard, I may finally tell her what for.
The RFK Jr bear cub story is so upsetting. I question the underlying details so much, right from the start. FIRST, he picked up a dead bear cub, what? And, he/his friends thought it would be FUNNY to place it in Central Park? WTF? If he truly found a dead bear cub, 1) why pick it up, 2) if he did pick it up and then was afraid he would get in trouble for skinning it, why not just put it back in the area he found it? He is not a well man. I mean, we knew that, but this story is absolutely deranged. Shame on him.
My husband's former roommate brought home a dead cat that he found on the road one time. He left it in the garage and when the other guys discovered it, he said he thought it was "pretty".
Much later he went to prison for sexually assaulting his young (as in, under 10) stepdaughter.
People who are compelled to do weird things with dead animals...it's just so often more than just that, you know?
It sounds like he intended to harvest the meat too. But he didn't hit the bear himself, so he had no idea how long it had been on the side of the road. Like, I think the brain worm thing and the symptoms are absolutely horrifying and aren't really anything to laugh at....but on the other hand, if he's eating roadkill that has been rotting for who knows how long, I can't say it's really surprising that he picked one up.
Growing up in the Kentucky area of Pennsyltucky it was shocking the number of people who would hit deer and just toss them in the back of their truck or call a buddy with a truck. Can't let that good venison go to waste. My dad once told me that PA had a law that if you hit and killed an animal you could claim it. So many people were buying junker cars and driving route 80 and 81 hitting deer that they had to repeal it.
Well that bit of gaslighting removes any sympathy one might have had for Usha (who most probably didn't know about the couch but certainly knows who her husband is and what he stands for) from the table.
Trumpers don't care about the economy. They just like to complain. Trump's "plans" for the economy are terrible, but if he is elected, they will trumpet every short term gain, and ignore long term failures. And, at the end of his four years, when he leaves the country a smoking wreck (and he will. Every R does)-there will be a litany of excuses as to why it wasn't daddy Don's fault.
I side-eye the comment that he "saw a woman hit the cub with a van and drive off". I suspect he actually hit the cub thus why he took it - not for the meat but to hide the evidence and that's how/why it ended up in Central Park. He just made up the part about intending to eat it because really, who is eating bear meat, especially a cub?
I read the Newsweek article about Kemp and even with the shit-talking, which included a dig at Kemp's wife, it sounds like he'll still support CFDT because Raphael Cruz led the way on that method of taking a stance.
Why is the stock market crashing? I know it's "fears of a recession", but why? Why are investors afraid of that? They've been afraid of it since Biden took office, and it hasn't happened. Why did this happen today? I need someone to explain it to me like I'm an idiot (because wrt the stock market, I am).
On Friday, the monthly jobs report showed only 100,000 new jobs and a rise in the unemployment rate to 4.3 -- after basically an uninterrupted streak of job additions over 200,000 per month since Biden took office. Europe and Japan freaked out over the weekend, then the U.S. freaked out when they woke up this morning, but then more economic data came out that pretty much showed everything is fine and it stabilized into what looks more like a correction, assuming there's no more scary data (also, fewer traders in August make it easier to trigger more volatility).
Ditto. My current theory, which is based on kinda nothing, but also just being alive these days, is that the people who want rate cuts are making it happen so they can make rate cuts happen. The more I read about 'the market' the more it feels like a weird feedback loop.
Last week I listened to the 4 episodes of Behind The Bastards that deal with RFK Jr and, frankly, I'm gutted that he's only admitting to leaving a dead bear (which he had apparently intended to eat) in Central Park now. I can only imagine what Robert and Cody would have to say about it.
(It's an excellent set of episodes by the way and RFK is a TERRIBLE person.]
The stock market will be the biggest hurdle right now. The party in office always gets blamed. Even if they aren't responsible. Vance being a creep won't matter if half the country loses their jobs again. And we all know that Toad Dick's "economic policy" just consists of more tax cuts for the wealthy and blaming immigrants for everything.
The craziest part of RFK's story is that he thought he'd have time after picking up a roadkill bear, drive into the city for dinner at Peter Lugar's, drive Boo Boo bear back to his house, presumably in a nice part of Westchester County, meaning at least a 45 minute drive, then drive back into the city or Newark to catch a flight. And I assume he just couldn't throw the entire bear into the freezer. Surely it would take at least some time to wrap the carcass. Even Roseanne, one of the bat shit loonies is looking at him during that convoluted, droning story like, "Wut?"
I was like "how did RFK Jr get a brain worm?" and then I found out he's the type of person that eats dead bears he finds randomly and it all makes a lot more sense now.
He's a man who has eaten way more than his share of roadkill.

Chutzpah, I tell you.

A couple of points: the stock market has since rebounded and Harris is up four in Georgia.
