After all, when it’s a Nazi parade, the police never seem to have a problem protecting their First Amendment rights.

This. All day long, this because the cops are on the side of the Nazis. Back the Blue my ass.

There is a Proud Boy wanted in my state who has been on the run for about a year (for attacking people protecting a Planned Parenthood) that was finally arrested in another state a few days ago. He fought with police and tried to grab their guns twice (getting close enough to actually get his hands on the butt of the guns).

He got told to "knock it off" and "sit down for a second." Although he was tased twice, he wasn't shot or beaten or killed. He wasn't given 15 different contradictory orders that they could use to justify shooting him because he wasn't complying. And that's great, that's how it should be. But funny how it's only that way with a certain demographic....

Cannon delaying the trial indefinitely might just be the most maddening development. This is the case with the best chance of conviction. McConnell blocking the nomination of Garland to the Supreme Court continues to bite us in the ass as is it led to him being appointed Attorney General. He sure seemed to be dragging his feet in indicting Agolf Twitler. Getting that judge didn't help but this should have happened much sooner.

Those 13 judges are another object lesson for why returning TFG to office would be a disastrophe. Fuck them and their “viewpoint diversity.” Virulent caucasity + evangelism is going to eviscerate all three branches of government.

“I have cognitive problems, clearly,”

A rare moment of honest self reflection from this narcissistic dipshit. We all said Trump had worms for brains, but this guy really does!

Expand full comment

Don't give him too much credit. It wasn't self reflection--he was trying to minimize the alimony he would have to pay in his divorce and was claiming his future earnings would be affected. "Narcissistic dipshit" is right on, though.

Yes, and his ex-wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy, eventually took her own life after finding RFK Jr's diary that detailed a litany of extra-marital affairs (like fathers, like sons), and losing custody of their children due to alcoholism. (She was arrested for a DUI shortly after he left her.)

The divorce had been very public and Richardson Kennedy's lawyers had talked about the distress it was causing her, as Kennedy continued to drag out the already protracted (two year) process.

oh, excellent, the most viable challenger to the two party candidates has a literal worm eaten brain. The writers are really on the nose with the metaphors for our rotting republic

Expand full comment

Kennedy is in no way a "viable" third-party candidate. He is on the ballot in exactly two states, and is working to get on the ballot of seven others, with little chance of advancing much, if at all, past that, even with GOP donors eagerly funding his quest in swing states. Putting absolutely every bit of other logic and reason aside—including that he polls at no more than 16% in state's race, on the ballot or note—Kennedy will not be on the ballot in enough states to reach 270 electoral votes, which is what it takes to become President. The one and ONLY viable role he can play is as spoiler. Period.

The key word was 'most'. Kennedy will never ever ever be elected, he won't win a state, he probably won't even win a county. This was a silly quip about how in a better system we'd indeed have an actual viable challenger, but instead in the current system the most visible, if you'd prefer that word, is an actual worm brain

Most common method is food you've eaten has the worms or eggs in it (like tapeworms in pork), the larvae then get into the bloodstream and brain from there. Another way is schistosomiasis: if you're in water that's been contaminated by human/animal feces which are fed on by snails with the worms, those worms can get in through the skin and then bloodstream. Both are relatively rarer in the US.

There was a woman here in Australia last year who foraged some wild greens, DIDN'T WASH THEM, and they had snake poop on them that contained a worm that travelled from her gut to her brain. She'd had stomach problems while it was in her digestive system, but it was only when she started getting headaches that she was sent for a scan that found it was now in her brain.

Dustin, he's showing "concern for the lives of Palestinians" by working tirelessly to broker a next-to-impossible ceasefire between two irreconcilable camps that want to kill each other.

And I frankly don't know what to say to your implication that Biden should be speaking about Islamophobia on Holocaust Remembrance Day, in a moment where college campuses have become profoundly unsafe for Jewish students, largely at the hands of protestors chanting slogans and reciting genocidal talking points lifted directly from Hamas. Islamophobia is always a concern in America, but it's a little insulting and a lot bizarre to claim that Islamophobia and Antisemitism have both spiked at the same way, to the same degree, at the same time. To claim that these two things represent equal problems in this moment, where Islamists and Islamist sympathizers in America are clearly the aggressors, is a brand new vista of both-sidesism. There was a pro-Palestinian mob "protesting" today at Auschwitz.

So we're completely ignoring the huge number of Jewish students/faculty that are part of and involved in organizing these protests? Why not listen to them about what the protests are about and if they feel safe...silencing their voice and jailing them seems anti-semitic to me. Let me guess...self-hating jews? This script is getting old.

Expand full comment

WTF are you even talking about. Islamophobia is WAY WAY worse in America than Anti-Semitism will ever be and it is very insulting for you to imply anything otherwise. The powers that be are so enraged that anyone would dare to feel bad for the Palestinians being murdered that they are sending swat teams in to brutalize college students simply for protesting against Genocide, of all things. Large numbers of Jewish Americans do not agree with this bullshit either, they are simply silenced and ignored by the media because they undercut the narrative that Israel represents all Jews and because they news would rather play clips of Israel bombing Palestinian civilians in refugee camps every night to the delight of many, many Americans who still believe all Muslims should be killed because of 9/11 or whatever. All the Jewish kids on campus supporting Israel had to say was the protestors made them uncomfortable and the powers that be instantly sent in the police to fuck them up with prejudice. Israel apparently owns all of our politicians and big chunks of the media because its the only rational explanation for such a massive collective gaslighting on what is really going on here.
