You can just tell he was so proud of himself for coming up with the line Swift abortions.

They really think women just sit around thinking I hope I get pregnant this month so I can go get an abortion. Or why bother with getting insurance cover BC, my IUD cost me nothing, when I can shell out hundreds of dollars for a medical procedure as birth control. The stupidity of this party knows no bounds.

There's this myth that goes around in their incel circles that women deliberately get pregnant and wait until 4-5 months or so to abort it, because they like how pregnancy makes their boobs like in pictures. I wish I was joking.

I’m so sorry that you know that. And now that I know that.

Man, they just really hate women!

These are the same people who thought they were SOOO funny for making jokes about Anthony Weiner's name. Comedy is NOT their strong suit. Because when you go through life so angry and confused about why you aren't more popular (especially with the ladies) it's hard to be humorous.

This might be the only time I truly appreciate well-organized and rabid fanbases. When they mobilize against conservatives, and especially when they mobilize their members to vote (in whatever country they happen to live in). I believe in their ability to get. sh!t. done.

This is like picking fights with K-pop fans. No matter what, you’re going to lose and they’re going to enjoy embarrassing you in the process.

Please, Charlie Kirk, starting throwing around anti-Asian slurs at BTS! Let’s

Encouraging people to vote is now "ballot harvesting?"

I know we don't share a reality with these people, but holy shit, get a grip.

Expand full comment

Yes, putting drop boxes in convenient locations is referred to as 'ballot harvesting' in the conservative webs. They think it's a nefarious plot and threaten to do it themselves as if making it easier for constituents to vote is an illegal activity

I am a woman who is very happy to be a Mom. I love it. But, it's not, you know, all that I am. These weirdos really think "childless" is a sick burn because they think that all women are walking around, unfulfilled and incomplete, until the meet a biological imperative to breed. It's so weird! And dumb. The Swifites are gonna eat them alive.

Please, please let the GOP f-around and find out with the Swifties. Please. I'll bring the popcorn!

I think it's hilarious that the right spent billions of dollars to set up a media apparatus to influence the outcome of elections and it's no match for an army of teenage girls!

The only thing I like about internet fandoms is how they can (and have) fucked with the GOP. I remember when a bunch of BTS fans RSVP-ed a trump rally, and then no one showed up. That was beautiful...

One of the talking heads on Fox or some other conservative outlet referred to marijuana and abortion as "sexy ballot" issues and that's the thing, they think that we want abortions every time we have sex and end up pregnant. They think that we use it as birth control, like whoops! I'm pregnant again, let me just knock out this abortion on my lunch hour when no one is doing that.

Santorum-google him. Dan Savage destroyed him years ago.

That said, is anyone liking Substack?

Meh on Substack. But I appreciate their reasoning. I don't like change, and I prefer Disqus. But I'm adjusting.

I don't like it, but whatever. I think these comments are inferior to just using Disqus like we used to.

I wish Pajiba didn't feel like they have to do this to make enough money to support the site, though...

I'm still in the newbie stage of my Substack use, but I'm happy that I can pay for a subscription to at least part of Pajiba so that I don't feel guilty about using adblock on the Mothership. I've tried *not* using adblock, but it's a nightmare and I'm a delicate (easily annoyed) flower.

As a Gen X mom of two Swifties, I couldn't be prouder. And please, like the GOP doesn't use every gun-toting, Confederate flag waving musician to rile up their base. But when it's women...

MAN the far right is mad that she didn't turn out to be the Aryan princess they claimed she was.

These guys are so dumb they are only telling on themselves when Swift encourages her fans to vote, and they assume they'll vote for the Dems. I hope so too, though I'm not sure what the actual ratio is considering she's been idolised by a lot of whipremacists and only recently dated a really unsavoury dude. But the more these man-babies are screaming and screeching about the fact that women are allowed to vote and, like, have opinions and bodily autonomy, the better. Super helpful highlighting the issues at stake.

Taylor Swift came out as a Democrat in 2018 and has been pushing for Dem candidates since then. She definitely HAD a fan base that included people who thought she was an “Aryan Princess” but I don’t know how many of them stuck around once she called Marsha Blackburn and the GOP the worst things to happen to Tennessee.

Given that Taylor recently finished a US tour where she was getting 60,000+ people a night to scream "Shade never made anybody less gay!!" at the top of their lungs while the stadium lit up in a giant rainbow...I think any Swiftie is going to be pretty clear which side she's NOT on.
